The Birth of an Innovative Idea
Easy: our original philosophy has remained the same since BedInABox® was born. In 2004, three experts (a foam expert, a digital marketer, and a machine builder) got together in Tennessee and discussed what seemed like a crazy idea: what if we take a queen size mattress and put it in a box that freight companies accept? Fast-forward eighteen months, and the first machine that made it possible to fit mattresses in smaller boxes had its first successful run.

Although our team has grown over the years, we have always been committed to keeping every step of the manufacturing and delivery process entirely in the USA. From the start, our goal was not only to select and construct materials and products from the USA, but also to select foams that were comfortable and durable, which is why we’ve been partnered with NCFI since 2006. NCFI is the American leader in the manufacturing of flexible polyurethane foam for bedding and furniture industries. Our collaboration has allowed us to create two foams that our customers love—SureAlign® high density foam and Cool Rest® gel memory foam.
Our partnership is one of the main reasons why we have become a leader in the industry, and why we are the only major U.S.-based E-commerce mattress brand with foam pouring, mattress assembly, and customer service under the same roof.
