What is the density of your memory foam?
We use a minimum of 3 lb density memory foam in all of our mattresses and toppers. The rebound is much quicker, which means you can change positions with ease and not feel “stuck.” Our memory foam is not affected by changes in temperature. You do not have to wait for your body temperature to “warm” the mattress up, so it will not be firmer in a cooler room and softer in a warmer room. It will have a consistent feel no matter the room temperature.
Is there a weight limit on your mattresses?
We use a high quality support foam, so we have no weight limits for any of our memory foam mattresses. Please be advised that certain foundations do have weight limits. Our foundations are rated for up to 1000 lbs.
Do you charge sales tax?
By law, sales tax is collected in certain states. Certain states also charge a recycling fee for any order that includes the purchase of a mattress. This fee is paid for at the time of checkout.
Is your foam CertiPUR-US® certified?
Yes, all of our foams are CertiPUR-US® certified, which means they do not contain any harmful chemicals.

How do I clean my mattress cover?
If something has happened to your mattress cover we recommend spot cleaning it with a mild household fabric or upholstery cleaner. The mattress cover is not to be unzipped or removed. Be sure to test a small area first to ensure that the cleaner doesn’t cause any discoloration or damage the fabric in any way. You should also avoid using any thick bristled brushes to scrub the cover as this can cause damage to the fabric as well. We do recommend a waterproof mattress protector to keep your mattress looking great and stain free.
What is a mattress recycling fee?
Bye Bye Mattress is a mattress recycling program operating in several states. The program was established by law and is operated by Mattress Recycling Council, a nonprofit that uses a recycling fee collected on each mattress and box spring sold, making recycling easier in our communities. The state law requires retailers to collect a recycling fee on each mattress and box spring sold. The amount of the fee is set and approved by the state, not by individual retailers. To see the details of the recycling fee in your state click here or call 1.855.229.1691.
These fees fund the state’s recycling program, which is administered by the Mattress Recycling Council. Whether a city picks up your discarded mattress, a retailer takes it back with your new purchase or you drop it off, the Bye Bye Mattress program converts your old product from waste to recycling. As a result, our landfills and incinerators are less crowded as old mattresses are recycled into new, useful products.
Why is BedInABox® the best Mattress in a Box?
Because we are the only brand that makes our own foam, assembles every mattress and ships it all from our own factory in North Carolina. So not only is every component of your mattress in a box made in America, but your BedInABox® is made under one roof!
How Much Does Shipping Cost?
Shipping within the contiguous United States is always free! However, residents of CA may be subject to a shipping fee with the choice to opt out of said shipping fee during checkout. Shipping to Alaska, Hawaii and APOs is available with an additional fee. Please call one of our Customer Service Specialists for details. Please Note: Should you change your delivery location directly with FedEx this is an option we can not guarantee, please contact us directly with any changes.
What sleep setup do you recommend for my BedInABox®?
Each BedInABox® mattress is designed to work with any standard foundation. Foam mattresses need as much direct support under them as possible in order to properly support the sleepers. Keeping a slatted or platform foundation under your BedInABox® will help you avoid mattress sagging or breakdown of the memory foam, as well. We recommend pairing your BedInABox® mattress with our Clever Connect® foundation or our MotionInABox® Adjustable Frame.
When can I sleep on my mattress?
Your mattress is ready to go to bed when you are! Our mattresses are ready to use within minutes of opening.
Will I need to flip my mattress?
No, BedInABox® mattresses are not constructed to be flipped! However, for a firmer sleep, you can flip your mattress to the support layer side. Should there be a significant weight difference between you and your sleep partner, we do suggest rotating the mattress every six months to prevent uneven wearing and to prolong the life of your mattress.
How long can a mattress stay in a box?
Your BedInABox® Mattress should be unboxed upon arrival! However, if you need to wait to unbox your new bed, it can remain roll-packed and boxed for no longer than 30 days. We ask that you unbox within this time frame so that you do not void the warranty.
Is there a limit on how many mattresses I can return?
We can accept one mattress return per household.
What is a mattress in a box?
A BedInABox® mattress in a box is a high-quality memory foam mattress that is compressed and rolled into a box before shipping. We developed the technology to compress and roll mattresses in 2006, so that the mattress shopping and delivery process could be simplified by eliminating the need for in-store visits and traditional mattress delivery. We offer mattress in a box options in all standard mattress sizes and in firmness levels that support every sleep need.
